Govt to install system to filter Internet contents



KATHMANDU:  The government is all set to install a system that will block and filter online contents that come through the Internet.

Nepal Telecommunications Authority NTA), the telecommunications regulatory body of Nepal, is purchasing an integrated system to filter contents and block URLs by spending Rs 1 billion.

A board meeting of the NTA held recently took a decision to this effect and it has been prioritized in the budget of the fiscal year 2020/21.

According to the plan, a supplier will be picked by mid-November 2020 and the integrated system will be installed by mid-March, next year.
