KATHMANDU: The government has announced to start the preliminary work of construction of Birgunj-Kathmandu and Rasuwagadhi-Kathmandu railways in the coming fiscal year.
Unveiling policies and programs of the government on Friday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari said preliminary work will be started now as the initial study report has been received.
In addition, President Bhandari has announced to start the construction of the Inaruwa section of East-West Electric Railway.
She also claimed that the Janakpur railway will be operational from the next fiscal year.
