Prez Bhandari refrains from using the term ‘my government’ this time

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday preferred not to use the term ‘my government’ while presenting the government’s policies and programs for the fiscal year 2020/21.

President Bhandari was widely criticized last year when she used the term ‘my government’ multiple times while presenting the government’s policies and programs, something which was widely used by former kings.

It should be recalled the Prime Minister KP Oli and some staunch supporters had defended President Bhandari’s use of the terms saying that a President can say ‘my government’.

This time President Bhandari used the terms ‘Nepal government’ and ‘this government’.

Prior to this, Nepal’s first President Dr Ram Baran Yadav had used the term ‘Nepal government’ in his address to the parliament.
