WASHINGTON: A US senator unveiled an 18-point plan aimed at holding the Beijing government accountable for its ‘deception, lies, and cover-ups’ that led to the global coronavirus pandemic.

The US plans also include enhancing military ties with India besides moving manufacturing chain from China and further deepening military-strategic ties Taiwan, India, and Vietnam.

Senator Thom Tillis presented a detailed plan alleging Beijing for maliciously covering up and enabling a global pandemic.

Tillis also alleged China government for locking up its citizens in labor camps, stealing America’s jobs and technology, and threatening the sovereignty of the US allies.

According to Senator Tillis, this should be taken as a ‘major wake-up call’ to the US and the rest of the free world adding that his plan of action will hold the Chinese regime accountable for lying about coronavirus.

The plan also seeks to create a Pacific Deterrence Initiative and immediately approving the military’s request for USD 20 billion in its funding.

It has also called for deepening military ties with regional allies as well as expanding equipment sales to Taiwan, India, and Taiwan.

The US also plans to encourage Japan to rebuild its military. Likewise, the plan also include offering Japan and South Korea sales of offensive military equipment.

The plan also includes moving manufacturing back to the US from China as well as gradually eliminating the US’ supply chain dependency on China.

Likewise, the plan also focusses on stopping China from stealing the US technology and providing incentives to the US companies to regain its technological advantage.

Likewise, strengthening cyber-security against Chinese sabotage and hacks has been in the list.

The Senator said that the other plan is to prevent US taxpayer money from being used by Beijing to pay off their debt.

The plan also focusses on implementing the US ban on Huawei as well as coordinating with the US allies to implement similar bans.

It further seeks restitution from the Beijing government and imposition of sanctions for deceiving about the coronavirus.

According to the Senator, China must be sanctioned for its atrocious human rights record.

Senator Tillis’ plan has also urged the Trump Administration to request the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to withdraw the 2022 Winter Olympics from Beijing.

The plan further stresses on stopping China’s propaganda campaign inside the US, and treat Chinese government-run media outlets as propaganda proxies. (With inputs from Agencies)
