Former King Gyanendra gets vehicle pass; heads for Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued vehicle pass to former King Gyanendra Shah to come to Kathmandu from Jhapa after widespread condemnation of the government’s decision of denying the pass to him.

The Ministry issued the pass to King Shah’s family, who are currently in Jhapa.

According to Jhapa’s Chief District Officer Uday Bahadur Rana Magar the former royal family left Jhapa for Kathmandu this morning.

They are coming to Kathmandu via Sindhuli.

It should be recalled that the government was widely criticized on social media for denying the pass to them.
