Unveil details of six Nepalis killed in Kuwait: NHRC to govt



KATHMANDU: National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the Nepal government to unveil the details of the six Nepalis killed in a construction site in the Kuwait’s Al-Mutla’a area.

NHRC wrote to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, asking toe make the details public.

Six Nepali workers died and two others sustained injuries when a huge pile of sand and gravel collapsed at a construction site in the Kuwait’s Al-Mutla’a area on February 12.

Ek Bahadur Gaha of Palpa, Gangaram Chaudhary of Siraha, Basanta Gurung of Taplejung and Shayam Narayan Chaudhary of Dang were among those killed.

According to eyewitnesses, the laborers of a Chinese company were busy working on installing manholes at block 1, N5 district when the pile of sand and gravel fell on them and buried them in the ditches intended for building the manholes.
