APF officials deployed for security of Arun III hydro project

SANKHUWASABHA: A squad of Armed Police Force has been deployed for the security of under-construction 900-megawatt Arun III hydro power project.

A team comprising 65 APF officials from Arun Company, Chainpur was deployed after incidents of arson attacks and bomb explosions, said company chief DSP Basudev Mahat.

The APF officials have been deployed in Pukhuwa and Kerabari of Chichila rural municipality, Fyaksida, Amrang, Solakhani of Makalu rural municipality and Tumlingtar of Khandbari municipality.

Indian company Satlaj has been constructing Arun III hydropower project. An unidentified group had detonated bombs and carried out arson attacks.
