Yoga, an integral part of life: Minister Gyawali

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Gyawali has emphasized the need for adopting Yoga as an integral part of people’s life.

Speaking at a program organized by the National Yoga Program Main Committee in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Minister Gyawali said yoga helps people to embrace the real lifestyle.

He stated that since mental stress has increased in society due to the modernization, Minister Gyawali suggested people do yoga and meditation, which he claimed were the appropriate means for reducing stress.

Minister Gyawali also described yoga as the panacea for a healthy, peaceful and amicable life.

He also suggested the need for including yoga in the school curriculum as well.

Likewise, Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal said that the government has initiated a campaign to prevent diseases of late.

The government has been celebrating Magh 1 of the Nepali calendar (January 15) as the National Yoga Day every year.
