SURKHET: Chief Minister of Karnali State Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has said it has become a challenge to protect language, culture and the costumes of various communities.

Speaking at a program organized by Nepal Magar Association in Surkhet today, today, Shahi urged people to use their cultural costumes and not emulate ‘imported culture’.

He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Magar Cultural Museum at Birendranagar municipality-9 of Surkhet district on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Shahi lauded the contribution of the Magar community in the social and political change in the country

He said that the construction of the museum would be expedited at any cost while pledging support on behalf of the state government.

The Magar Museum is being constructed at a cost of Rs 36 million 868 thousand on the land provided by the founding president of the Association, Jahar Singh Thapa.
