KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Sapkota said that he was absent from the Constitutional Council (CC) meeting on Tuesday ‘due to lack of coordination.’

In a statement issued on behalf of the Secretariat, Press Expert Shridhar Neupane said that the Speaker was aware of the constitutional dignity and responsibility.

The statement said that the Speaker had informed the Prime Minister about the pre-preparation of the meeting, homework, mutual consultation, and lack of necessary coordination.

“He clearly believes that there should be adequate homework and coordination among the members of the Constitutional Council in making decisions that are of long-term and far-reaching importance in running the state,” reads the statement.
