Province 2 records three COVID-19 deaths, 104 fresh cases



JANAKPUR: Province 2 recorded three deaths from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Province 2 Ministry of Social Development, a 45-year-old man from Birgunj-2, Chhapkaiya, a 55-year-old man from Mahottari and a 46-year-old woman from Saptari succumbed to the coronavirus.

With the deaths, the COVID-19 death tally in the province has reached 157.

Among them, 18 are from Dhanusha, 16 from Mahottari, 15 from Siraha, 22 from Saptari, 12 from Sarlahi, eight from Rautahat, 18 from Bara, and 47 from Parsa.

According to the ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Kamalesh Prasad Yadav, a total of 104 new infected people have been added in the last 24 hours, including 15 women and 89 men.

A total of 16 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in Dhanusha, one in Mahottari, 25 in Siraha, 14 in Bara, 24 in Parsa, three in Sarlahi, nine in Rautahat, and 12 in Saptari.

With the new cases, the coronavirus tally in the province has reached 14,524.

Meanwhile, 91 people recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 12,586.
