COVID-19: Province 1 registers nine deaths, record-high 645 fresh cases



BIRATNAGAR: Province 1 recorded nine coronavirus related deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Social Development, five people have died in Sunsari, two each in Morang and Tehrathum.

The coronavirus death toll in the province has reached 121 as of Thursday with the new deaths.

Meanwhile, the province registered a record-high 645 cases.

A total of 326 cases were detected in Morang, 209 in Sunsari, 74 in Jhapa, nine in Sankhuwasabha, four in Udayapur, two each in Bhojpur, Tehrathum, Ilam, and Taplejung, and 24 cases outside the province.

With the cases, the coronavirus tally in the province has reached 12,269.

Meanwhile, 326 people were discharged in the last 24 hours.

As many as 304 people were discharged from home isolation, 12 from Koshi Hospital COVID 19 Treatment Center, nine from COVID 19 Hospital Gothgaon and one from Mechi Hospital, according to the Ministry.

So far, 5,339 people have recovered from the coronavirus.
