KATHMANDU: Eleven additional people including two septuagenarians have died from coronavirus in separate places of the country.
Two people have died from coronavirus in the courses of treatment at Dhulikhel Hopital in Kavre district.
The deceased are a 50-year-old man and a 77-year-old male from Banepa-13, Kavre.
According to Dr Nerendra Kumar Jha, the senior medical administrator of District Health Office, Kavre, both the COVID-19 patients succumbed to the pandemic on Wednesday night.
The 50-year-old patient had been undergoing treatment since October 13. He was also suffering from diabetes. His 45-year-old brother had passed away from the virus only 10 days ago.
Similarly, the septuagenarian man who had returned home after undergoing dialysis on Wednesday evening passed away at home. His swab test conducted at the laboratory of Dhulikhel Hospital came out positive yesterday, said Dr Jha.
Three more people have died from coronavirus in the course of treatment in Biratnagar of Morang district.
They died in the course of treatment at the COVID-19 treatment Center of Koshi Hospital on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
According to the hospital, a 50-year-old man of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-4 and a 66-year-old man of Dharan Sub Metropolitan City-15 succumbed to the virus.
Diabetic patient from Biratnagar, who tested positive for the virus on October 7, died at 3:30 am today, informed Gyan Bahadur Basnet, the manager of the treatment center.
Similarly, the sexagenarian man from Dharan-15 who tested positive for the virus on last Monday passed away Wednesday night, said Basnet. The patient was also suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.
Similarly, a 40-year-old woman of Sundar Haraincha municipality-5, Morang also died in the course of treatment at Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar on Wednesday evening.
She was suffering from chronic cardiac-related ailments.
Similarly, five more people have died from coronavirus in the course of treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Among those deceased, three are from Sunsari and two from Tehrathum.
A 44-year-old woman from Dharan-9 had tested positive for COVID-19 on October 13. She had no medical history of chronic ailments, according to Dr Ashish Shresth, the deputy spokesperson of the hospital.
Similarly, a 58-year-old man from Dharan-9, who tested positive for the virus on October 11 also succumbed to coronavirus.
Likewise, a 75-year-old woman from Itahari Sub Metropolitan City-20 and a 31-year-old female from Tehrathum also died from the virus on Thursday morning.
They had been diagnosed with the virus on October 12 and on September 26 respectively.
Similarly, a 49-year-old man has died from coronavirus in the course of treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
Originally from Tehrathum, the patient succumbed to the virus at 7 pm on Wednesday, informed Dr Ashish Shrestha, the deputy spokesperson for the hospital.
Coronavirus infection was detected in him during a test after he was admitted to the hospital on October 11.
Referred to Dharan from District Hospital, Dhankuta, he was also suffering from pneumonia.
Similarly, a 77-year-old man has died from coronavirus in Baglung district.
The septuagenarian succumbed to the virus in the course of treatment at Charak Memorial Hospital in Pokhara on Wednesday evening.
Originally from Baglung municipality-2, the infected elderly was brought to Pokhara on Sunday after his health condition deteriorated.
“A 77-year-old man died due to coronavirus in the course of treatment in Pokhara,” said Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, the spokesperson for the COVID-19 Control and Prevention Program of Gandaki Pradesh.
Grocery shopkeeper by profession, he was also suffering from high blood pressure and cardiac-related ailments.
