Madhyapur Municipality goes into lockdown till August 25



BHAKTAPUR: A lockdown has been enforced in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality area after coronavirus infection was detected at the community level.

An emergency meeting of the municipality chaired by the mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha this evening decided to impose a lockdown in the municipality until August 25.

The meeting was attended by the deputy mayor Anjana Devi Madhikarmi, the ward chairpersons of all the municipality’s wards and the members of the municipal executive.

The municipality has opted to go into lockdown after 41 persons in the municipality tested positive for coronavirus so far, mayor Shrestha said.

Shops selling essentials as foodstuff, water, LPG and medicines would be allowed to open only for two hours from 11 am to 1 pm while other businesses have been prohibited.
