Kathmandu Valley reports 98 new COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: As many as 98 persons have been infected from COVID-19 in Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at the regular press briefing on Saturday afternoon, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at Ministry of Health and Population confirmed that 80 persons from Kathmandu, nine each from Lalitpur and Bhaktapur district have been diagnosed with the virus.

Tests carried out at BIDH Lab found infection in 10 from Kathmandu and one from Lalitpur, three from Kathmandu and one from Bhaktapur at Bir Hospital, one from Lalitpur at B&B Hospital and eight from Bhaktapur and four from Kathmandu at Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital.

Likewise, 24 each from Kathmandu were diagnosed positive at Nepal Police Hospital and National Public Health Laboratory, three from Kathmandu at Birendra Military Hospital, two from Kathmandu at Surya Health Care and 10 from Kathmandu and seven from Lalitpur at Star Hospital in Sanepa.

Meanwhile, 468 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the national count to 26,019.
