Archaeology Department to initiate excavation of Ayodhyaouri in Chitwan

KATHMANDU: The Department of Archaeology is set to initiate excavation of the Ayodhyapuri of Parsa-Chitwan.

The Department is making preparations to excavate the site after Prime Minister KP Oli last week said that Lord Ram was born in Nepal’s Ayodhya, not in India.

According to the Department, they will initiate the excavation project as soon as they receive the instruction from the government saying that they are under pressure to initiate the project as PM Oli has spoken about it.

It is learned that department has already asked government to provide funds to initiate the study.
