BIRATNAGAR: The State Hospital (Koshi) here has started the production of sanitizer and masks from Friday as an attempt to prepare protective tool for doctors, health officials and patients against Covid-19 outbreak.
The hospital began the production of sanitizer and mask as the local markets ran out after the threat of coronavirus outbreak. Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Sangita Mishra, said that the hospital itself bought the necessary raw materials and started the production of sanitizer and masks.
With support of the doctors and health officials, 20 litres of hand sanitizer and 1,000 pieces of double-layered masks were produced. It is said that the sanitizer was produced by using different chemicals as per the standards of the WHO.
For sanitizer production, hydrogen parasite, spirit and glycerin are used. The hospital has also planned to produce further sanitizers as per the need of the doctors, officials and patients in the future as well.
The materials produced by the hospital would be used in the health desks run by the state government for the health checkups.
