SINDHULI: A police constable opened fire at his own stomach after his female colleague did not accept his love proposal at the District Police Office, Sindhuli on Friday morning.

Police constable Chandra Kishor Raya snatched away on-duty female colleague’s pistol and shot at himself  after she rejected his love proposal, according to SP Ranju Sigdel said.

“Raya, from Mahottari, was patiently waiting for February 14 to propose his love in hopes of getting it requited,” said SP Ranju Sigdel, adding, “Unfortunately, his proposal was rejected and he snatched her pistol and opened fire on himself in a fit of lovelorn state.”

Both the constables are unmarried.
