Prachanda’s proposal can’t be discussed within party: Surya Thapa

KATHMANDU: The dispute in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has gained new heights after Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda presented a ‘one-sided’ political report at the Secretariat meeting and leveled allegations against Prime Minister KP Oli.

Press Advisor to Prime Minister KP Oli, Surya Thapa, has termed the political dossier an apolitical, arbitrary, irresponsible, immoral, a bundle of illusions and blatant corruption of facts.

“At least the party committees cannot discuss such allegations,” he said in a post on Facebook on Saturday.

He said that Prachanda’s document was presented against the decision of the Standing Committee meeting.

“This is a direct violation of the party’s constitution, tradition, practice, and the decision of the last standing committee meeting to prepare and submit any proposal only with the consent of both the chairpersons,” he said, “It should be withdrawn immediately.”
