Party unity in critical juncture due to Prachanda’s proposal: Pokharel

KATHMANDU: Standing Committee member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Shankar Pokharel has urged Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda to withdraw the proposal against another Chairman and Prime Minister KP Oli.

Pokharel, who is also the Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, said that the proposal submitted by Prachanda with serious allegations against Oli was against the spirit of party unity and the spirit of the decision of the Standing Committee.

“The whole party line is feeling that the party unity has reached a critical juncture after presenting unilateral proposal with serious allegations,” Pokharel wrote on Facebook, “I urge comrade Prachanda to withdraw the proposal to save the party unity and move the discussion forward in line with the spirit of unity,” he said.

During a Secretariat meeting held yesterday, Prachanda had presented the political report and accused Oli of being the main culprit in the current problems in the party.
