Few more days for monsoon to end

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said it would take few more days for monsoon to end in the country.

Issuing a special bulletin on Wednesday, the Department said although the monsoon has ended from Sudurpaschim and Karnali States since October 1, it was yet to go away from other parts.

However, the monsoon system still prevailing in some parts of the country was weak.

So, there was no chance of huge rainfall, said meteorologist Raju Pradhananga. Average time the monsoon disappears from Nepal around September 23.

It delayed this year because of the westerly low pressure system.

The monsoon faded away last year on October 12. Currently, there is partly weather change in the hilly regions of State-1, Bagmati State and Gandaki State.

Brief rain is predicted in some places of State-1, Bagmati State and Gandaki State, added the Weather Forecasting Division.
