Two COVID-19 infected persons die in Dharan



KATHMANDU: Two COVID-19 infected people have died in Dharan.

The deceased are a 60-year-old woman of Itahari-6 in Sunsari district and a 37-year-old man of Belbari-10 in Morang district.

They were treated at the Corona Hospital at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in Dharan.

The woman died this morning and the man on Tuesday night. She was tested positive for the infection after she was admitted to the hospital on September 30 for diabetes, said BPKIHS co-spokesperson Dr Aashish Shrestha.

The man was tested positive for the virus on October 7 and was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday noon after suffering from respiratory problem, he said, adding that he had not shown any history of acute illness at that time.

Nepali Army would manage the bodies of the deceased, he said. With this, the BPKIHS so far recorded 53 deaths from the infection.
