359 new industries registered in a month in Banke



BANKE: A total of 359 new industries have been registered in Banke district in a month after the Lumbini State Government decided to provide exemption in registration fees for industries.

The decision is aimed at cushioning the impact of COVID-19’s on the small and cottage industries in the State.

With the implementation of the State Government’s decision to exempt registration fees for the new industries since September 8, new industries were impressively sprouting in Banke district, said Jayaram Tharu, Chief of Office of Small and Cottage Industry, Banke.

The small and cottage industries with fixed capital upto Rs 500,000 capital are to be registered in local level while those industries with fixed capital above Rs 500,000 are to be registered at the Office of Small and Cottage Industry in each district, according to Tharu.

Earlier, the registration charge for industries with fixed capital upto Rs 20,00,000 was Rs 5,000 while the industries having capital above Rs 20,00,000 to upto Rs 50,00,000 had to pay Rs 15,000 as the registration fee.

Likewise, industries having capital above Rs 50,00,000 ought to pay Rs 25,000 as a registration fee. The waiver in the registration charge has enthused the would-be entrepreneurs venturing out into their small business.

The new entrepreneurs also avail counselling from the Office of Small and Cottage Industry in Banke for free of cost.
