KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Purna Chandra Thapa conferred insignia on newly-promoted Major General Bigyan Dev Pandey at a function at Nepal Army (NA) Headquarters.
A meeting of Council of Minister on Monday had promoted Pandey from Brigadier General to Major General.
He has been assigned the responsibility of Division Head of the NA North-Western Division.
After serving as the army’s spokesman for about 15 months, he had been working as the acting Division Head.
