2,000 people sent home from quarantine facilities as they test negative for virus



DOTI: As many as 2000 persons including 200 women have been sent home from different quarantine facilities in Doti district after their PCR reports came negative.

They had returned home from jobs in India. Now, at least 8,400 people who returned home from jobs in India have been staying at the facility.

“In the first phase, we let them go home from the quarantine facility after their reports have been negative. The remaining will be sent home after their PCR reports are availed,” said Ramesh Malasi, chief of the district health office, Doti.

Thirteen people who came home from India have been tested positive for the coronavirus in the district and one was discharged from the hospital after being cured. Swabs of 205 RDT positive people, who have been staying at various quarantine facilities in the district, have been sent to the Dhangadhi laboratory in Kailali district, said Surya Bista, COVID-19 focal person of the district health office.
