23 sent home from quarantine test COVID-19 positive in Dhading



DHADING: As many as 23 people of Nilkantha Municipality in Dhading district, who were earlier sent home after 14 days in quarantine, have tested COVID-19 positive.

Six people from Nilkantha-1; 9 people from ward-7; 7 people from ward-14, and 1 from ward-4 were tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday. All of them are India-returnees.

Finding it inconvenient to arrange for the PCR test of all of them, the Municipality had sent them home after getting RDT negative result.

“We demanded that they deserve PCR test, but unfortunately, we didn’t even get the RDT test, managing for the RDT kit ourselves we sent all who have passed 15 days in quarantine and tested RDT negative home,” Bishnu Rijal, the health coordinator of Nilkantha Municipality said. “We sent them home to avoid their rebellion; but now they are have been tested positive.”

Most of the people who were found COVID-19 positive on Saturday were sent home after finding RDT negative on June 4.

With the new cases, the COVID-19 case in Dhading has reached 82. Among them, 41 cases are from Nilkantha Municipality alone.
