Action as per Immigration Act against foreigners arrested from protest site

KATHMANDU: Police have said that six out of seven foreigners arrested from Maitighar Mandala for taking part in a demonstration on Saturday will be charged for action as per the Immigration Act.

One was released after finding out that he was not involved in the protest, said a police official.

They were held with anti-government placards while they were participating in the protest programs.

Foreigners cannot take part in any demonstrations organized for internal issues of the country as per the existing law.

Youths have been staging protest programs against the government for its failure to control and prevent coronavirus pandemic and for its poor performance.
