Nepal Airlines slashes airfare

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has decided to slash air fare that it had been charging to bring Nepalis back home from abroad.

The national flag-carrier made this decision addressing the complaints regarding the earlier air fare determined for bringing the Nepalis back home from major labor destination countries including the Gulf region by Nepali aircraft.

NAC stated that the decision has been made in the form of greater efforts as per the request of the Government of Nepal.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, had held a discussion in this regard today and had urged NAC and Himalayan Airlines to review the present proposed air fare.

NAC has made it clear that the decision to decrease the air fare for the chartered flights has been taken realizing the social responsibility rather than profit in such adverse situation and considering the difficulties faced by the Nepalis in various countries.

It has expressed the confidence that the Nepali citizens especially in the countries of the Gulf region, Malaysia and Cyprus would be directly benefited by this decision.

NAC has reiterated its commitment that it was always ready in the service of all Nepali citizens.
