3 coronavirus suspects from Pepsicola kept in Patan Hospital isolation



KATHMANDU: Three persons of a same family living in the Pepsicola-based Sun City Apartment are kept in isolation of Patan Hospital after they had coronavirus positive results in a rapid diagnostic test conducted recently.

According to Dr. Bishnu Sharma, the director of Patan Hospital, three members of the family were found coronavirus positive while testing through rapid test kit.

According to him, the family had come to Nepal from London on March 18 and now all three suspected of coronavirus were kept in an isolation ward of Patan Hospital.

Sharma said that for confirmation the hospital has collected their throat swab and has sent for another test through the PCR method. The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests work by detecting specific genetic material within the virus.

Meanwhile, the apartment area has been sealed and police personnel have been deployed.

Nepal has got 14 coronavirus cases so far.
