Expectant mother rescued by helicopter



BALEWA: An expectant mother in labor pain was rescued from Baglung through a helicopter today.

She is Bheema Bhusal, 33, of Dhorpatan municipality-1.

The rescue was possible on the initiation of Badigad rural municipality chair Singh Paija. Acting on his request, the Gandaki state social development minister sent the chopper for her rescue.

Her labor pain became intense while she was being transported to Pokhara on an ambulance from the Burtibang Primary Health Center.

Then she was stopped on the premises of Badigad rural municipality office. She was lifted to the Gandaki Hospital, Pokhara.

According to chair Paija, he immediately contacted social development minister Naradevi Pun upon becoming aware of the situation of the mother of two children and the minster send the Prabhu Helicopter on the right time to pick her up.

It is learnt that she was facing complications in the delivery due to an unusual positioning of her fetus.
