President Bhandari stresses social distancing



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has wished for good health, peace, happiness, prosperity, long life, brotherhood and unity, and overall development and progress of all Nepalis on the occasion of Nepali New Year 2077 BS.

In a message of New Year on Monday, President Bhandari has stressed to intensify mutual cooperation, welfare, dedication and sacrifices at a time when hundreds of thousand people are struggling for their life by being infected from COVID-19 while the number of death toll has surpassed 100,000.

President Bhandari has also stated that lockdown and social distancing were the best option to save the priceless human lives by making the prevention, control and treatment measures against the global pandemic.

The development efforts in the country have moved in a speedy manner with the government efforts to achieve the national aspirations of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’, the President added.

She has also expressed her confidence that the New Year will ensure energy to all Nepali sisters and brothers to unite once again to prevent and control the global pandemic with high morale and positive attitudes.

In her message, the President has expressed best wishes for new courage and excitement for economic prosperity in the country along with lasting peace, robust national unity and social goodwill.
