KATHMANDU: An aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will leave for Wuhan, China at 2:45 pm on Saturday afternoon to evacuate Nepalis from the city  that is currently reeling under the epidemic of Covid-19.

According to NAC, nine crew members including three pilots will be on board the aircraft. Four health workers will also board the aircraft, said the Ministry of Health and Population.

The aircraft is scheduled to return at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 2:15 am on Sunday.

The Nepalis to be brought from China will undergo screening at the airport for Covid-19 upon their arrival.

Those showing symptoms similar to the disease will be sent to the Teku-based Shukraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital and others to isolation in Kharipati, Bhaktapur.

They will be quarantined at the training center of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for 14 days. 199 isolation beds have been already managed to quarantine the evacuees.

Meanwhile, the Nepali Embassy in Beijing said that three buses have been managed to bring Nepali students at three universities in Wuhan to the airport.

187 out of some 215 Nepalis living in Hubei Province have applied to be evacuated.
