6,000 private houses still to be reconstructed in Lalitpur

LALITPUR: It’s been four years that Nepal was hit by a devastating earthquake. However, around 6,000 private houses are yet to be reconstructed in the Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

Chief of Building Project of the District Project Implementation Unit, Chandrakaji Gurung, informed that a total of 7,408 people were identified as the beneficiary in the Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

He said that the agreement was signed with 6,383 beneficiaries.

According to him, six thousand three hundred sixty-six beneficiaries have already received the first tranche.

Likewise, 1,527 beneficiaries have received the second and 1,070 beneficiaries received the third tranche.

Despite this, only 913 private houses have been reconstructed so far.

Gurung added that although the private sector has constructed private houses at different places, there is still a problem of keeping fact records.
