Elephant tramples elderly to death



HETAUDA: An elderly woman died from an elephant attack in Makawanpur on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Maiya Thapa, 80, of Meldanda of Manahari Rural Municipality-3, according to the District Police Office.

She died on the spot when the elephant attacked her at a time when she had gone to collect grass at Parsa Wildlife Reserve, which lies around three kilometers away from her house.
