Prachanda to Oli: You deceived me time and again

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has come down heavily on Prime Minister KP Oli of deceiving him over and over again.

In a letter to Prime Minister Oli, Prachanda dismissed the latter’s claim that he had consented to the appointment of the ambassadors. “I did my give my consent to the nomination of the ambassadors as claimed by PM Oli,” Prachanda said in the letter.

“The Prime Minister, however, claimed that the appointment of the ambassadors to different countries was made on the basis of agreement with me,”” Prachanda has said, adding, “This is a complete lie. I never gave my consent.”

“Yes, we discussed the issue but no agreement was made,” Prachanda said. More importantly, he added, before appointing an ambassador the decision should be taken only after consultation and discussion in the Secretariat according to the spirit and letter of the Standing Committee decision.

“However, after I left Baluwatar, the same day the cabinet appointed the ambassador without my knowledge,” Prachanda said in his report asking, “How could he (PM Oli) dare to publicize such fake issue?”

Meanwhile, in a 19-page-long report submitted at the Secretariat meeting, he lambasted Prime Minister Oli for his use of temptation, threats and personal assault on the character of the colleagues.

“Abusing the state power, he has been marginalizing the leaders and the party members avenging them for disagreeing with him,” NCP Chairman Prachanda said in the report.

“He has sidelined the devoted and sincere cadres and has rather promoted the newly joined bourgeois with no political history and contribution to the party,” he accused PM Oli

Meanwhile, PM Oli has earlier accused Prachanda of promoting “factionalism” in the party.

PM Oli accused Dahal of involving in factional politics in the party in a letter to Dahal.

Sources claimed that PM Oli came down heavily on Prachanda for spreading irresponsible allegations against him.

“I never told him (Prachanda) that I will not convene the meeting of the Secretariat,” the source quoted PM Oli as saying.

PM Oli has also suggested Prachanda to stop doing politics of factionalism. He has also accused Prachanda for creating unnecessary disputes with him.
