Nepal, Switzerland sign agreement collaborating to build 200 bridges



KATHMANDU: Nepal and Switzerland on Friday signed an agreement collaborating to build 200 motorable bridges on provincial roads.

The bridges will be constructed in the next four years.

The Motorable Local Bridges Program will benefit 1.5 million citizens through access to economic opportunities & basic services, the Swiss Embassy in Kathmandu said.

For the last nine years, SDC is providing technical assistance to build over 415 motorable bridges reducing transportation costs to schools, health posts, markets, etc by 20-25%.
