Baitadi bus accident: Seven out of nine killed identified



BAITADI: Seven out of nine people killed in the Baitadi bus accident in the far-western region have been identified.

According to Sudurpaschim Pradesh Traffic Police Office, Attariya, the deceased are Kritika Karki of Bhimdatta municipality-8, Kanchanpur, police constable of Dogadakedar rural municipality-6, Baitadi Rana Bahadur Chand, Narendra Chaudhary, Jagannath Ojha, Bimal Badu, Tara Giri whose addresses are yet to be ascertained.

The identities of the remaining two are yet to be ascertained.

One body of the deceased has been kept at Dadeldhura Hospital while the rest have been kept at Baitadi District Hospital.

Nine died in a bus accident at Patan municipality-8, Khodpe on the Dasharathchand Highway in Baitadi district.

The ill-fated bus, Na 5 Kha 5141, which was heading to Mahendranagar from Ganna of Darchula met with an accident at 10 pm on Thursday, said DSP Narayan Prasad Adhikari of District Police Office, Baitadi.

Seven men and two women are among those killed. Seven among 34 injured who sustained critical injuries have been referred to Dhangadhi for treatment, said Adhikari. The remaining 27 injured are undergoing treatment at Dadeldhura Hospital.

Police said they are investigating the cause of the accident.
