CM Rai lays foundation of bridge over Dudhkoshi river



UDAYPUR: Chief Minister of State-1, Sherdhan Rai has laid the foundation stone for the construction of a metalled bridge over the Dudhkoshi river at Chuhar, Haspur of Hatuwagadhi-9 in the district.

The foundation was laid on Monday. The bridge links Chuhar, Haspur of Bhojpur district and Mainamaili, Belaka Municipality-7 of Udayapur district.

The 90 metres long and 10 metres wide bridge is being constructed at a total cost of Rs 212 million 312 thousand 407 to be borne by the state government’s Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development.

Officiating Director at the Ministry’s Transport Infrastructure Directorate, Rewati Raman Parajuli said Kalika Pacific JV has been awarded the contract for the construction of the bridge within two years.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Rai said that there was some delay in construction of the bridge as no construction company participated in the bidding although the applications had been called for the same three times before this.

He said now the construction would be speeded up and the bridge would be completed on time. According to the Chief Minister, this bridge is on the high priority of the State government. RSS
