IPL2020: Bangalore beats Kolkata by 82 runs



KATHMANDU: Royal Challengers Banglore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 82 runs in an IPL match held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday night.

Kolkata Knight Riders was restricted to 112 runs with the loss of nine wickets while chasing the mammoth 195-run target set by Bangalore.

Kolkata’s Shubman Gill made highest 34 runs including three fours and one six off 25 balls while Rahul Tripathi and Andre Russell collected 16 runs each for Kolkata. Other batsmen could not reach double-digit runs.

Bangalore’s CH Morris and Washington Sundar took two wickets each of Kolkata.

Earlier, electing to bat first after losing the toss, Bangalore notched up 194 runs losing two wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

AB de Villiers scored a half-century with 73 runs studded with five fours and six sixes off 33 balls. Similarly, AJ Finch, skipper V Kohli contributed 47 and 33 runs respectively.

With this win, Bangalore is in the third position with 10 points from seven matches while Kolkata is in the fourth position with eight points from seven games.
