Kathmandu District Administration Office stops issuing passes to vehicles

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Administration Office has stopped issuing vehicle passes to move in and out of the Kathmandu Valley from today.

The decision to this effect was made considering the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Kathmandu.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had on Wednesday instructed all district administration offices across the country to stop issuing inter-district passes to vehicles.

It may be noted that the government has also imposed the odd-even rationing on vehicles within the districts while the inter-district transportation has been suspended.

However, vehicles providing emergency services such as ambulances, media, and vehicles carrying foodstuffs can travel freely, according to the Ministry.
