Nepal, China hold virtual meeting to discuss COVID-19, bilateral issues



KATHMANDU: Nepal and China held a secretary-level virtual meeting to discuss the combat against coronavirus, implementation of past agreements and bilateral relations.

The meeting between Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Shanker Das Bairagi, and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui on Wednesday basically discussed efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic besides reviewing the agreements signed in the past, among other issues.

According to MoFA, the meeting was basically an informal discussion between at the secretary level on bilateral issues.

Meanwhile, taking to Twitter, Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi labeled the meeting ‘fruitful’.

She said that the meeting held between Nepali Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui remained largely fruitful on combating coronavirus pandemic, bilateral relations, practical cooperation and others.

Likewise, MoFA tweeted saying the two sides reviewed bilateral relations, implementations of agreements signed in the past and fighting against Covid-19 pandemic.
