AMDA Mechi Hospital sealed off after doc contracts coronavirus

JHAPA: The AMDA Mechi Hospital in the district has been sealed off after a doctor in the hospital was found infected with COVID-19. All kinds of services to be provided from the hospital are halted since Wednesday.

Hospital sources said that the infected doctor is under treatment at the upper floor of the hospital. It is stated that the deadly Coronavirus pandemic was found transmitted in the community after a 15-year-old boy of Mechinagar-10 Dhulabari tested positive for coronavirus recently.

The Mechinagar Municipality has issued a lockdown order in a bid to drastically limit the movement of people after four coronavirus cases were confirmed in a single day in the municipality.

Meanwhile, the municipality has held all-party and all stakeholders’ meeting to tackle the pandemic and adopt preventive measures.

According to Mayor Bimal Acharya, they were conducting a contact tracing and preparing to collect swab of suspected ones for PCR test.
