Altaf Hussein Ansari involved in 15 kg gold scam held from Bara



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested Altaf Hussein Ansari for his involvement in the 15 kg gold scam from Bara district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of District Police Office, Parsa arrested him from Nijgadh of Bara, said Police Chief DIG Dhiraj Pratap Singh, Chief of Province 2 Police.

“A team of District Police Office, Parsa arrested Ansari from Nijgadh this morning,” said Singh, adding, “We will unveil the details later since the investigation is underway.”

Police had seized a huge amount of gold at Kalamadi in Kathmandu on August 7.

Earlier, on June 13, 2015, Ansari had been arrested from Lalitpur for his involvement in the transaction of fake Indian currency notes.

District Court, Lalitpur had slapped Ansari with a three-year-jail term along with a fine of Rs 26.1 million after being convicted in the fake banknote transaction.
