 New 34 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Parsa



BIRGUNJ: As many as 34 people have been infected with coronavirus in Parsa district.

The new cases were confirmed during PCR tests at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital on Wednesday evening.

Among 35 infected, 34 (including 10 women) are from Parsa and one from Bara. The infected are aged seven to 62.

Out of 34 infected in Parsa, 32 are from Birgunj Metropolitan  City and  two are from Chhiharmai rural municipality, according to Narayani Hospital Administration.

Most of the infected on Wednesday were tracked down through contact tracing.

With this, the number of people infected with coronavirus has reached 1,144 in Parsa district.

Among those infected, 80 are medical workers, 57 security personnel, four journalists, 83 detainees, 20 hospital cleaners and 15 Indian citizens.

A total of 22 people have died of coronavirus in Parsa district so far.
