Death toll in Jajarkot landslide climbs to 11



KATHMANDU: The death toll from floods and landslides in Jajarkot district has reached 11 after two more bodies were recovered.

The rescue team retrieved the bodies of 13-year-old Laxmi Karki, the daughter of Gopal Sarki and 11-year-old Kamala Sarki on Sunday.

They had gone missing in the landslide that occurred in Sarkitole of Barekot rural municipality-4 on Thursday night.

Kalu Sarki, 38, his 13-year-old daughter Tirsa Sarki, son Subhash Sarki have been killed in the landslide.

Similarly, other deceased include Gauri Sarki, 14, Kabita Sarki, 16, Dilli Sarki, 20, and Birendra Sarki, 19, and Arjun Sarki according to District Police Office, Jajarkot.
