KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Gagan Thapa has vented his ire for not being allowed to speak during the clause-by-clause discussion on the Constitution Amendment Bill.

He expressed his displeasure over not being allowed to speak in today’s meeting on such a serious issue as amending the constitution.

Stating that there were many reactions on social media on why he did not speak in the parliament, he spewed anger on social media.

“Many friends have asked why I didn’t speak today,” Thapa wrote, “The Speaker allocated time to parties and its leaders by indicating them in the clause-by-clause discussion on an important issue like amending the constitution. Speaker said to tell the party when requested for allowing speaking arguing it was a trend. Such a trend has shrunk the role of lawmakers”.
