FNJ urges journalists to undergo COVID-19 test



KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has urged journalists deployed in the field to undergo tests for coronavirus through the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday after two journalists were diagnosed with coronavirus, FNJ has urged the government to make arrangements for immediate health check-ups with PCR technology for journalists working in the field in the worst-affected districts.

The statement issued by FNJ General Secretary Ramesh Bista reads, “FNJ is deeply saddened and concerned over the news that the media sector, which is at the forefront of a high risk of coronavirus has been affected.”
