Culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi enters 101 years

KATHMANDU: Culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi has reached 101 years today.

Joshi has served as the Chancellor of Nepal Bhasa Academy along with holding other key positions in his career.

He has also served as the first Director of the Archaeological and Cultural Department in 1959.

He has also remained one of the Executive Board members of the Nepali Art Council, and a lifetime member of the Nepal Academy.

The government of Nepal has also honored him with the ‘Litterateur of the Century’ title in 2017.

Meanwhile, US Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry has extended wishes to Joshi on his birthday.

He took to Twitter to wish him thus: “Happy 101st birthday to a living cultural icon, Satya Mohan Joshi – the legendary Nepali writer & scholar on cultural preservation & environmental awareness! Wishing you good health and all the best!”
