COVID-19: Insurance cover for doctors, security persons and journalists

Doti: The Province government has initiated life insurance for medical personnel, security persons and media persons working for prevention and control of Corona Virus in the Province.

A meeting of the provincial government has decided to provide insurance coverage of Rs. 1.5 million for them, according to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Likewise, the Province government decided to allocate a budget of Rs. 160 million to distribute relief supplies to the very poor, helpless and daily wagers in the Province.

The distribution will be done through the local level unit, according to the Chief Minister’s personal secretary Shiva Singh Oli. The relief will be worth Rs. 3,000 per family.

The health staffers in all the nine government hospitals in the Province will receive incentive allowance.
Furthermore, 20 ventilators will be procured to be installed in all the district hospitals of the Province.

A decision has also been taken to allocate Rs. 500,000 each to the district administration offices and Rs. 1.5 million to the Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police units in the Province, Oli said.
