Four Chinese nat’ls held for ‘khukuri’ attack in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Police arrested four Chinese nationals on the charge of attempting to attack a Nepali hotelier with a ‘khukuri’, a traditional knife.

Acting on a complaint, Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbar Marga impounded four Chinese nationals for attempting to attack a Nepali hotelier with a khukuri.

According to sources, Chinese nationals attacked the hotel entrepreneur with a sharp weapon after tension flared over customer-related issue at Thamel on Wednesday evening. However, police did not disclose the name of hotel and its entrepreneur.

After the dispute intensified, Chinese nationals tried to attack the hotelier with a khukuri, police quoted the hotelier as saying.

Police said a case has been filed against the arrested under the charge of misdemeanor.
